Djakarta Taste
We discovered today this fantastic restaurant, where the manager welcomed us warmly. Indeed she takes the time to explain the dishes, which are incredibly good and where we feel the traditional Indonesian scents. We could taste with an impeccable service the delicious mie goreng, sate,Ayam bakar ,nasi padeng, and traditional tea. Nothing to complain about and wonderful cuisine I highly recommend without hesitation, among my top 3 restaurants in Ottawa.

The food here is really good. I had the chicken (ayam) satay with fried rice and my wife had the mie goreng rice noodle stir fry. Both were delicious! This is a very small shop with 4 tables and just 1 lady running it but she was great. Very nice and a very good cook! I haven't had anything this authentic in a while, probably since I visited southeast Asia. We were visiting but would go back here if in town. Worth it!

Great value like others have said. The chef was running the place on her own so things were moving a little slowly, but she was so welcoming and offered substitutes when our first choices weren't available. If this was a bigger restaurant I'd probably feel put off by several (presumably popular) items being unavailable, but when it's a one-woman operation it's a different story. Everything tasted like home cooking, in the best way. Anyway, recommended wholeheartedly, just with the disclaimer that you may need to be patient and understanding given the circumstances!

This was one of the best places I’ve ever been to. The food was perfectly cooked, sooo fresh, and the flavour was amazing. The lady is so friendly and passionate about her food. There are a few tables, so it’s pretty intimate. Halal as well and close Ottawa! 10/10 recommend!

It's back !After reading the reviews we were really curious to try this restaurant. First time we walked by they were closed but yesterday we peeked in and they had just reopened the day before ! Still working on getting everything back to normal after a few months absence but the owner was incredibly kind and welcoming.Food is great and portions are more than fair. It's the definition of a great homecooked meal. We'll be back for sure.

Today I visited this restaurant, which is the only Indonesian restaurant around Ottawa as far as I'm aware, and was blown away by their delicious food and amazing customer service. The staff made sure to inform customers of their hours and buffet times and went above and beyond with their service. The food, prepared by the sweet owner, was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended for an authentic Indonesian culinary experience!

My apologies i can give only 5 stars , they deserve 10 for their enthusiasm , the quality of dishes and their customer service . Its a small shop with a big heart . I run foodie meetups in ottawa and Indonesian food has been on my radar for quite some time , I chanced upon Djakarta taste when i was hyped by an article on times on the rise of indonesian food and was frantically searching for the same in the locality . I gave them a call and the reception was excellent . We did setup a saturday for a small group of Picky foodies to try the food and we are sooooo glad we didI will quickly dive into a Pros and Cons listPros1. The Traditional dishes - Try to get them just the way they are , read up about the ingredients and try them in authentic form , they ace it, like nasi padang, mi goreng , bakwan .2. The staff : Warm , welcoming , homely. They go 100% to make you feel at home3. The variety of savory : The spread is amazing .Can be improved1. Space if you plan to dine in : Small shop , they will do their best , however cut them some slack considering its run from a home2. Turnaround time : some dishes like shrimp takes time , the chef is super fast but it is one person , so be aware of the turnaround when you place a large order3. Parking space behind is limited , so plan accordinglyOnce again they are suited now for a takeaways and they will entertain dine in for small groups . But the fooood is just amazing . try it . Indonesian at its bestMy fav dishes : nasi padang , bakwan, mi goreng, ikan bakar
