this is a very low key restaurant run by a lovely Indonesian couple, that delivers great taste, portions and pricing! order ahead or be prepared to wait as there’s only 4 tables inside, so if you don’t come early, you have to do takeout.Must try dishes are:SkewersSamara noodlesSamara Chicken

It can take a while for the food to come out since there are only two people working in there. It is better to order ahead on the phone instead of ordering in-person and waiting around. I waited up to 50 minutes to an hour to get my two orders. The smell of food being cooked is also strong enough to stick onto your clothes so be careful (maybe wait in the car or something). It's also very small inside--just three tables.We ordered the special mi goreng and the chicken curry. It was pleasantly good. I was impressed with the mi goreng specially. The curry was also good but I'm more used to a thicker consistency with curries but I liked it anyways.Food wise--it was really good. Service was a bit slow. Ambient well...it is a small restaurant but the food is good and the portion is good for its prices so I can't complain. Would definitely come back with friends!Food: ★★★★Ambient ★★Service: ★★

We got the Mee Goreng, Chicken Skewers, Laksa, and Beef Randang. The flavours of every dish was DELICIOUS - aromatic, flavourful and substantial combination of ingredients. They cook to order so food takes a while but it’s so worth it.

This place is legit! First time here, had nasi padang with beef rendang. Wow!The green sambal was spicy and delicious, rendang was perfect!How dis i now know this place for last 5 yrs of coming to mississauga?Cash or debit only.

Deserves all the positive attention it’s been receiving. Went there based on an Insauga blog post. I can’t believe I’ve never heard of this restaurant before, but I see how it could easily be overlooked since it’s located in an industrial area. Upon entering the door, we were greeted by a few tables and chairs, a fridge and a cash register…and that was the entire restaurant. We were confused how to order because we saw no one, but we realized everyone was cooking in the kitchen behind the cash register. Server seemed friendly enough. Wait time for food was a tad long, but the truth is…It’s worth it. I’ve had Beef Rendang from four restaurants prior to this visit, and I would consider theirs the best one yet. It was rich and filling, and such a comforting dish, but with a kick from the spices and chilis. I also tried an authentic Mie Goreng (not instant noodle) for the first time—scrump-dilly-icious. The sweetness from the noodles was the perfect marriage to the savouriness of the rendang. Filled every craving I had and left me wanting more even though I was already full. Furthermore, the Indonesian Lamb Curry was aromatic and tender. Just remarkable flavours all around. Most certainly will be coming back for more. I can’t wait to try their noodle soup and other dishes.

Samara Kitchen is a wonderful hidden gem tucked away in a mostly commercial industrial area. They serve one of the most authentic Indonesian foods in the GTA. It seems the restaurant wasn't really designed for dine-in but mostly takeout and catering as there are only 3 or 4 tables crammed into the corner of the restaurant. Despite the dreary furniture, lack of decor and sticky menus, I had a wonderful experience. Everything this restaurant lacks, they make up for in food. Great authentic flavours using quality ingredients. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Indonesian food.
